On-Time and Every Day
100% – 95% Attendance is the Goal!
Every child needs to come to school on time, every day. It matters, as early as kindergarten. By middle and high school, poor attendance is a leading indicator of dropout. Developing the habit of good attendance prepares students for success on the job and in life. Our school day begins at 7:30 a.m. One of the most important times of the school day is the morning. This is the time when important school news is announced, teachers define their plans for the day, and instructional goals are reviewed and set. STUDENTS THAT COME TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY, ON TIME WILL BE CELEBRATED AT THE END OF EACH MONTH.
Excused and unexcused absences add up fast – and equal academic problems. Students are at risk academically if they miss 18 days, or 10% of the school year. Even sporadic absences matter. Just one or two days a month can add up to a chronic problem that affects a student’s success in the present and the future. Parent and Family Portal — Knowledge is Power
The School District of Philadelphia is proud to offer a tool that parents and family members
may use to stay connected to their child and their school. The School District of Philadelphia’s Parent & Family Portal gives you access to valuable information about your child’s education and school. You will be able to view your child’s academic history, test results, attendance, and more. You can also request to receive text messages, emails and/or phone calls about important issues that might impact your child, (i.e. weather-related school closures and delays, attendance alerts and upcoming events of interest to families).
